The Theme

The conference will be held under the theme: Africa of Tomorrow: Positioning PFM for Economic Prosperity.

This theme is both critical and timely: As countries across Africa work to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and promote economic resilience, the need for robust, agile, and forward-looking Public Financial Management (PFM) systems has never been more urgent.

The theme for the 2025 AAAG Annual Conference highlights the need to reform PFM systems to respond to current and future challenges by leveraging innovation, artificial intelligence, digitalization, climate-responsive budgeting, and sound fiscal governance. By embracing these reforms, African governments can build resilience, boost public trust, and unlock the huge economic potential of the countries and the continent.
